WOYWW - Something I Should Have Started Earlier In the Day

This is part of an epic undertaking as inspired by Baker at Man Vs. Debt.
It started off as an innocent ploy to get my bookshelf back to his former magazine photo-shoot ready glory, but now everything is more gory than glory....ish

Here's where I started the evening. UGH! What a MESS! I have been obsessing over my despising of the clutter for weeks now. So I set out to attack it...

What my workdesk currently looks like at 12:52 am...

Now I think I'm going to figure out some place to sleep....

I am sure that Julia and the Crew are doing much better. Run along and cheer them on!
xo and heavy dreams of books, Amber
p.s. also there was an earthquake today and when I came home two books were on the floor, which might have been what started this bout of insanity this evening.

My parents bought me the new Simple Touch Reader Nook (as incentive to take good care of the house while they're away) and I had to let my books know that they're still (and forever) my favorites. Because, you know, books have feelings which get hurt when the new technological "book" comes to town.

Hoping your books are feeling the love,
Summer

Oh Summer, you totally get it! I've decided that the books on the bench are books that can go on my Kindle. The others simply must be kept at all costs. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't sat down and had a talk with the friends that are leaving the house, explaining that they'd each be going to a new home that will love them as much as I have. I feel like a total jerk though.

Looks like you really are in the middle of this redo. Is this from the earthquake? I can empathize, since I'm still working on my basement redo. Hope you get it organized soon, so you can get some sleep! Happy WOYWW from #3 this week.

Don't you just hate it when even nature is in on this whole 'clean up your mess' thing? Hope that two books on the floor was your only damage.
Just think how great its going to look when you are done - it will be worth having to sleep on the couch.
Happy WOYWW

love all the books. I have been converted to the nook also. I missed the 'feel' of a book until I bought a cover and it makes it feel like a 'real' book. Have a great week. Vickie

I too have an electronic book, but still have shelves full of my old favourites, always will have. Hope you have fun putting yours back - you'll get that happy glow when you've finished!!

Lol! Hope the couch was comfortable for you. :)) It's hard organizing book shelves. It's easy to throw everything off but to put it back you have to be strategic about it. Which books go together by the size and content and so on. I've been there a month ago. :))

Oh my - I hope apart from the fallen books tha tyou haven't experienced any other negatives from the earthquake? I experienced a tremor when staying with my Sissy in San Fran...it's quite scarey. YOu aren't doing anything differently to the way I do it...nitice it, hate it, obsess over it, and then do it at a time that is largely inappropriate..oh yeah. I hope you just sccoped the stuff off the bed and went straight to sleep!

A woman after my own heart... Lol. That's how I like to attack a clutter project. Just take it all out of the space, alas, I haven't done that recently... Good luck with the project. I didn't feel the earthquake in western Jersey yesterday but people around me did.... huh.... gotta figure that out!

I can never understand why it seems to clear a clutter you end up making a bigger mess and end up with bits left over and no home to put them in. Hope you get your task finished sucessfullly.

Oh Amber we have more than one book case in every room - I would spend my LIFE tidying if I wanted to keep them 'in order'

I do hope you got some sleep,

and when you woke up the book fairy restored your shelves for you...
