Will you wait until Black Friday to shop?

Some people like the thrill of the hunt.

As for our Amber Girls,
they just like to shop all year round.
Rain, Hail, sleet or snow
you'll find our girls good to go...

Happy shopping everyone!

P.S.  Meredith told me where to buy that cute clear umbrella.
That is first on my list!

Sunny Skies Here to Stay

Oh Happy Day!
Sherbert Ink isn't letting anything dampen her spirits. She's running through rain, through sleet, through snow, well... soon enough. It's a tough job but someone's got to do it! Labor day has kicked off here in the states and we know that it's just a matter of time before we're donning those galoshes to trudge on through the elements.

Let's adopt Steph's attitude and look up towards the sun. We're not going to let anything dampen our spirits today! Here's hoping you have a day of rest and relaxation in front of you!

WOYWW - Prizes and Pumpkins

My desk is pretty busy this week. I'm working on all our goodies for our next release at Amber Ink.com

I'm also having the absolute joy of working with Lynne Phelps at Savvy Sisters Studio! Lynne was the grand prize winner of our first ever Amber Ink. INK-redible Challenge and she won a custom set! We're designing it together. I take Lynne's ideas and we chit chat and then I sketch them!

My mom and business partner have LOVED working with Lynne. We call her our straight shooter. It's incredibly fitting that Lynne would come up with such an exciting concept for her custom set (unveiled and up for sale October 20th)

This set's theme is 'Let's Communicate'. Lynne's been a die-hard fan of my skinny mini - Amber Girls, but was longing for someone with a little bit more to love on her bones.

Lynne and I discussed her great ideas. I did some initial sketching and then we went back and forth. Talk a bit, sketch a bit. This is really close to final time! I'm excited we get to show it today! Lynne's come up with some ultimate stamper sayings for our girl with curves to chat about.

Be sure to be 'first in line' to snatch her up when we release her on the 20th of this month!

Speaking of releases, and sneak peeks... I've had a pretty craptastic week. Sunday night found me trying to plan a run across the Brooklyn Bridge with a friend. It turned out Monday was going to be raining.... So I decided to download the 10 day forecast. DON'T DO IT! It'll break your heart!!!

Anyway, I've been a grump. The only thing that's cheered me up was an afternoon jaunt to Trader Joe's yesterday. They had a bevvy of Pumpkins to greet me at the door.

They were so bright they brightened me up too.

I bottled up this particular bliss and our newest digiStamp, Happy Pumpkin was born!
Happy Pumpkin will be released on the 20th of this month.

Since I look forward to WOYWW SO much, and because everything ELSE has been sucking enough here to probably be sucking there (wherever you are) too. We're offering him today for FREEEEEEEE to our WOYWWers! I hope he cheers your day.

Add him to your cart and check out and pay nothing until midnight tonight! If you miss him he'll be back for mere dollars on the 20th. We'd love for you to check our our iPaper too. You can buy it, download it, and print it immediately. So it's ready to go for all your brilliant ideas.

If anything in our newly released Halloween images catches your eye, they're $1 to $3. If you buy something Halloweeny from Amber Ink. and make something in the next few days you can enter our latest Amber Ink. INKcredible Challenge, making you eligible to win your own custom set just like Lynne did!!!

I hope we'll see you there!

Run on over to Julia's to see her always inspiring desk and desks!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?

I'm putting the final touches on our upcoming clear stamp sets for our launch!

My mom, Pam, has been urging me to start doing Julia Dunnit's mega-awesome weekly voyage into the lives of others (and their desks). I kept warning my mom... seriously though, my desk is a mess! She said to do it anyway.
This is the most forgiving picture I managed snap.

I'm in clutter mode as we count down to our grand opening!
Only 14 days left!!!
Yikes/Yay!

What's on your workdesk today?

Moms Are Cool

As my own mother was eager to remind me this Sunday, on Easter... "Mother's day is soon."
No. No. Let's not get distracted by other Sunday holidays. . . keep your eye on the prize.

So you don't all get up in a panic and run off to Google "Mother's Day 2010" - I will help you out. It's coming on May 9th. Mark your calendars or take your fate in your own hands.

Amber Ink. is a mother/daughter company. From time to time you're sure to get a response from my mommy, Pam - Aka. Incredimombo. My mom's encouragement, intelligence and talent in trend and business are vital to running Amber Ink. smoothly and without wrinkles.

I keep a book on my bookshelf where I write down funny quotes my mom accidentally doles out. I tease her that I plan to read them at her funeral.

Last year, while I was going through a particularly hard time, my mom was pushing our "important to me" conversation off course. Every time I'd start to let her in on the difficult details of my situation, she'd go off on another fluffy tangent. "Guess what is happening on the Korean Soap Opera I am watching right now?," seems to be the only one that sticks out in my mind, but oh, there were others.... Determined to not be one-upped, in frustration, I announced:

"MOTHER! I AM HAVING A HARD TIME! I NEED YOU TO LISTEN TO ME. BE A GOOD MOTHER!"

She shot back without thinking "Sorry, I can't be a good mother. I had you too young."

We both collapsed with giggles. I grabbed the quote book while she begged me not to. Yay for tradition.

My mom is the ultimate young mother. As I find myself tip-toeing into my late twenties (there, I said it) sans babies, I am thankful I've had such a liberating career and active social life. I wouldn't change the way I've spent my youth but I can't help but sigh over the fact that skirting the 'babies raising babies' issue will mean that my kids will probably never think that I am nearly as cool as I think my mom is.

We are so excited to have a project as big as Amber Ink. to give us an excuse to spend hours and hours on the phone. We have always made a pretty perfect pair.

Our coming soon "Amber Stamps" will highlight the fabulousness of mothers. Any ideas?

Rain. Rain. Go. Away. Or Else.

We're record breakers. http://www.accuweather.com/blogs/news/story/26842/rain-still-threatening-floodin.asp

At least in all of this I get to know that somehow, even in its most sick and twisted way, we won! Seriously, New England, way to bring it home. Granted, My living room is covered in pots and pans and dripping water. Poor little roof just couldn't take NYC's competitive nature this week. I am so SICK of rain.

Ick to the Y-U-C-K

The only thing good about this kind of weather is Boots.
All I'm sayin' is this better bring April Flowers. With this much rain I don't want to have to way for May ;)

When I'm dealing with weather like this all I want to do is listen to Bob Dylan - preferably from his 'All along the Watchtower' days and eat popcorn.

What is your idea of making the most of a rainy day?
By now you should have lots of practice.

Happy Rain Day

Hey, Bag Lady ;)

Today is my kid sister's birthday! When I think about April B. or Prilly, or the Apie, as she is sometimes called, Her particular passion for purses has not gone unnoticed.

When she was little she used to lug these gigantic bags around. She was BoHo Chic before the Olsen Twins had stopped saying "No Way, DUDE!" It was a common occurrence for her to drag a bag or two to the car, carefully climb into the car, reach down to grab the bag and fall back out of the car because the bag was so heavy it pulled her down. She might have been in diapers but she was stylish.

On one trip to Vegas when April was about four she lagged far behind us, again with more bags than we would have needed for a beach picnic. The bags just seemed so heavy and she was so small. Taking pity on her my mom and I went back to help her carry a few. When we picked them up we almost fell over too! She'd been walking along the Las Vegas strip picking up decorative landscape rocks and filling up her bags! That was the day we officially started calling her bag lady.

Now that she's all grown up her sense of style has changed a hundred times. She's always throwing together this or that, but the bags remain a staple of my April.

This set is straight from my sketchbook, and in just under the wire. My mom reported that my sissie tore open the presents I'd sent at the stroke of midnight last night, when she had just barely turned 23. When I asked April about it she defended herself by saying "Well, it is MY birthday and my birthday starts at midnight!" So this post happened on her birthday, March 9th and that is what counts ;)

Happy Birthday, kiddo. I love you. I think you're the tops.

Extra! Extra!

This just in! We have our first card. The amazing and talented and wonderful Lesley over at http://stampingrecklesley.blogspot.com/ (what a witty blog name) has made the very first digiStamp Amber Ink. card!

I am over the moon and couldn't help but share. My cup of joy overflows and runs out the door, jovially down the sidwalk, across the bridge and uptown towards the wild. Pure bliss.
